Street Fighter 5 Update: Akuma Gameplay Trailer Launched; New Season Pass Details Revealed

Yoshinori Ono, executive producer of Street Fighter 5, said that Akuma will be joining the said game. During the Red Bull Battlegrounds event, an announcement trailer was revealed although it was just a brief one. However, it did stirred up fans' excitement in playing Akuma.

Capcom has revealed further details about the character during the PlayStation Experience 2016, and even revealed the date of its release. Akuma will be joining Street Fighter 5 on Dec. 20, and with him comes various damaging tools that he can utilize anytime such as quick footwork and devastating combos. Capcom blog posted about the new Street Fighter 5 character, and it made mention that the new character can outclass opponents through its oppressive pressure.

In the gameplay trailer, Akuma's abilities can be truly seen, and this included his defensive stance, parry and upward kick/palm strike called V-Skill Rakan. It also showed his V-Trigger Dohatsu Shoten, a more powerful Gohadokens that has a ground slam after Goshoryuken. Critical Art moves Sekia Koretsuha, which is a palm slam, and Shun Goku Satsu can surely generate major damage.

The Akuma update for Street Fighter 5 has story content as well as Premium Battle and Nostalgia outfits. However, players are also looking forward for five other characters that will be released by Capcom in 2017. There will be a season pass which can be used to unlock all of the six characters on their released date and it will cost $29.99. There will also be an exclusive PS4 theme for all of those who will avail of the season pass.

No information was released yet about who these characters are, but Capcom said that they are completely new, according to Game Rant. This indicated that they will be a fresh addition to the franchise, similar to the new character Laura. Street Fighter is already available on PC and PS4.
