Final Fantasy XV Rusted Bit Locations Guide

A Rusted Bit is important in Final Fantasy XV in that it allows Noctis' weapon, called the Engine Blade, to level up. All you need is one of this "rare treasure," but it fetches a good amount of Gil so you might want to hoard. If you're finding it hard to find even one, read on to find out all the Rusted Bit locations in the world of Eos.

Final Fantasy XV Rusted Bit Locations

You will find a couple of Rusted Bits in Final Fantasy XV Chapter 2 in Keycatrich Trench Dungeon, where you will also obtain the second Royal Arms called Axe of the Conqueror. This is part of the storyline, so might as well grab one before you proceed.

Upon entering the dungeon, just move forward before as far as you can, then take a right at the wall. Then take a left. A Rusted Bit is lying in the rubbles at a dead end tunnel. Next, look out for a room with a lightning elemental node. After this room should be another dead end tunnel with rubbles. Another Rusted Bit can be found here.

A Rusted Bit can also be found in Galdin Quay, specifically at the end of the pier. It should be sitting next to a pole with blue and white stripes. In the same Chapter, go to the water tower in the Prarie Outpost. The item can be found on a platform, which you can get to using a ladder.

You will find two more as you make your way to the Taelpar Rest Area outpost. The first one is hiding in the grass beside a diner and the other one is hiding between two buildings. Look out for a turquoise-colored car.

Other dungeons you should explore are Greyshire Glacial Grotto and Fociaugh Hollow. There should be two Rusted Bits in each location. In Balouve Mines, there's an item on the tracks. And in Cauthess Disc, there's a Rusted Bit that you'll find in a pile of rubble at Cauthess Coernix Station when you cross the road.

How To Get Ultima Blade In Final Fantasy XV

The first step into getting Noctis' Engine Blade in Final Fantasy XV to become the Ultima Blade is upgrading it to Engine Blade II. The quest for this called "A Better Engine Blade" can be triggered by talking to Cid as soon as you unlock him as a mechanic. This is where you will be tasked to find a Rusted Bit.

Afterwards, you will need to clear the quests "A Better Engine Blade II" and "A Better Engine Blade III," for which you will be required to get a Glass Gemstone and a Sturdy Helixhorn respectively. The Ultima Blade will be given by Cid when you finish the third mission. For the full guide to these quests, click here.
