Death Stranding News: Mads Mikkelsen Describes Kojima As "Master"

Death Stranding's PSX 2016 trailer has still left gamers in shock as the short showcase featured two new stars in the game. Guillermo del Toro was confirmed to be the guy in suit while Mads Mikkelsen portrays what seems to be an antagonist - not certain at this point as there are no official statements on character roles yet.

Just in, Mads Mikkelsen talked about reasons on why he decided to sign up for Death Stranding and one side comment captured gamers' ears. Mikkelsen cites that one of the reasons why he joined the said game is that Kojima is a "master" when it comes to gaming medium.

The said awesome note was discussed in an interview at IGN being part of Mikkelsen's press tour for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The actor didn't have much to give about the upcoming game Death Stranding but he still was courteous enough to give praise to the game's mastermind Hideo Kojima. Mikkelsen also promised more details when he's allowed to say so.

At this point, I am starting to admire Mads Mikkelsen's work ethics as he is not arrogant about game details yet he successfully suppressed any information leak by diverting the topic into something equally interesting. Here are Mikkelsen's actual words:

"Kojima is a master. He's the Kasparov of video games ...a visionary person ...it was a wonderful opportunity to dive into that world [referring to video game production]."

The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus also is part of the game, complimenting Mikkelsen's antagonistic aura as suggested by the trailer - again this is not certain since there are no details about character roles and Kojima tends to twist up everything from trailer to the actual course of the game. Reedus can be seen on the first trailer of Death Stranding portraying a person who just woke up naked, confused, sad - making the audience feel the same, that's what Kojima is best known for.

Anyway, Reedus shares the same impressions with Mikkelsen when it comes to opinion about Kojima, the actor has stated that his working with the director really must happen after Silent Hills got cancelled.

As a gamer, it is indeed great news to find out that Kojima, del Toro, and Reedus are still picking up where they had left off from Silent Hills and still aim at creating a game for everyone to enjoy. Expectations are held up to its highest as Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen joins team Death Stranding.

Again, there is so little information given about Death Stranding. The only clues we have are the first two trailers. But given the people behind the game's creation, with Kojima Productions - I believe Kojima picked trustworthy people to join his new team, hard at work, and the awesome 'all star' cast in front of the camera, you'd expect less failure from the game.

The internet, as usual, is starting to generate tons of theories about the game based on just little information given out by Kojima about Death Stranding. For me, it is enough to keep the thoughts focused on Kojima's intentions on making a good game and the portfolios of del Toro, Mikkelson, and Reedus are enough to keep us excited about the game.

Death Stranding is currently ongoing production exclusive for the PlayStation 4, and possibly ported to PS4 Pro.
