Pokemon Sun and Moon Have Become JRPG?

Pokemon Sun and Moon, the huge successful game series from Niantic, has reportedly adopted modern video game conventions, which is enough to be called a JRPG. However, the game's premise of collecting and exploration has seemed to push itself more to storytelling as it moves away from the design that longtime Pokemon Sun and Moon fans have generally expected with every new iteration.

The Pokemon Sun and Moon have brought a number of new gameplay changes and additions. The new gameplay mechanics are focused on the prologue content of Pokemon Sun and Moon, and adventure starts with considerably less resistance. However, reports suggest that the Pokemon Sun and Moon have remained as among the most unhampered RPGs in the history of video gaming that are often centered on the thrill and excitement of adventure and capturing new Pokemon, including battling with new gym leaders.

Although Pokemon Sun and Moon appears to change that, it seems that the change is not so much to an entirely different game. The cinematic cutscenes lead the players to a new region called Alola, where companions and rivals continue to make recurring appearances, which is said to be beyond the required rival battles scattered throughout the Pokemon Sun and Moon. But while Pokemon games have always used the turn-based battle of JRPGs, the Pokemon Sun and Moon is believed to be the first to use something like an exhaustive narrative construction in the Final Fantasy, although on a significantly smaller rate.

Meanwhile, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver had the technology in 2009 that allows Pokemon to follow player characters to be used for solving puzzles. However, the technology appears to have lost in time, considering that each Pokemon game launched since has less features. Nevertheless, latest reports suggest that Game Freak has been planning on reintroducing the said features.

According to reports, unused low-poly meshes and animations depicting several Pokemon simply walking and idling, animations that are not used in the Pokemon Sun and Moon battles. It is not clear yet, why a follow feature was never included in the Pokemon Sun and Moon, in spite of having assets within the game files. Some believe that it was just an issue of priority, performance and time. Watch POKÉMON SUN and MOON - RPG - Game Exclusive Nintendo
