Destiny 'The Dawning' Guide: How To Dominate Sparrow Racing League With The Fastest Sparrows

With less than a week to wait before "The Dawning" event begins to roll in Destiny: Rise of Iron, sparrows have already been released by Bungie. For those who are in the hunt for the best and fastest sparrows to use in the Sparrow Racing League, here's the perfect guide for you so you can dominate your race.

Understanding Sparrow Categories: Speed, Durability, Boost

Sparrows are sorted according to Speed, Durability and Boost. You need to understand this so you'd know how this works to fit it in your taste. Sparrows under the Durability category are best for Patrolling or bringing you to the filler portion of a Strike mission. Sparrows under the Boost category help you increase speed through arrows on the racing field, and 35 is the average rating. Sparrow under the Speed category is definitely what you are looking for, at least when engaging in Sparrow Racing League.

Destiny Sparrow Racing League - The Ideal Sparrows

The perfect sparrows to use during the Sparrow Racing League are the ones that has Speed rating of 160 and Boost rating of 40, or a Speed rating of 150 and Boost rating of 60. It is however not recommendable for beginners to use a sparrow whose Boost rating is at 60 because they can burst if boosted for too long. Below are some of the few sparrows in Destiny that has a legendary rating of 160/40.

The S-34 Ravensteel has a Speed at 160, Boost at 40 and Durability at 55. You can upgrade it to Quick Brake or Strafe Thrusters. You get this when you hit Light Level 30 before The Taken King expansion. If you don't have it yet, you can look for alternatives.

The XVO Timebreaker has a Speed at 150, Boost at 60 and Durability at 60. You get it in the Vault of Glass. Its boost covers up it low speed rating although you have to be careful when holding down the boost mmeter.

The EV-34 Vector Infinite has a Speed rating at 160, Boost at 40, Durability at 55. You can upgrade it to Quick Brake or Strafe Thrusters. With almost the same stats as the S-34 Ravensteel, you get this by finishing the Refer-a-Friend quest during The Taken King.

However, Bungie hasn't fully revealed the mechanics of the sparrows for the event, especially whether or not they will come altogether at a neutral state during the event. If this will happen, Sparrow stats will become irrelevant.
