Why The 'Nintendo Mini NES' Is Sold Out Easily? New Stocks To Arrive Soon?

After Nintendo's coveted Mini Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) has recently been sold out nationwide, a lot of nostalgic Nintendo fans have been left empty-handed and disappointed. The NES was Nintendo's very first gaming console, released in 1983 and was sold commercially until 1995. In 2009 it was named and regarded as the greatest video game console of all time by IGN.

The Classic NES console

Recently, Nintendo announced the release of the miniature version of the console in July with a commercial that asked viewers if they remember "the good old days." The commercial features a montage of clips from classic Nintendo games, including Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong, to a track of the classic 8-bit 'chiptune' music made famous by the console's range of games.

Mini NES now sold out

The console, which was released on November 10, features 30 inbuilt games and was retailed for $99. However, the console has now become unattainable, selling through its pre-sale allotment in just days and selling out of stores upon release within just a couple of hours, according to reports.

Attempts of making final sales

EB Games attempted to host a second online pre-sale but had to make reschedules after its website subsequently crashed under the overload of visitors. Yesterday, Target launched its final Australian retail, and the NES was sold out in a matter of minutes. The company's website also crashed during the sale, as thousands of fans tried eagerly to get their hands on the product. Ever since the incident, its Facebook page has been flooded with multiple complaints.

More stocks coming next year

Nintendo is yet to respond where they will be sending more stocks before Christmas, but it is strongly believed that there will be more Mini NES consoles available in early 2017. As of now, the consoles are now selling for between $200 and $300 on eBay.
