Destiny brings its fourth record book called the Competitive Spirit with The Dawning holiday event. The book centers on the event's two modes-the Sparrow Racing League (SRL) and the Strike Scoring strike. The SRL offers a ton of reward from emblems and ornaments to shaders and tags. Accomplishing milestones in the Competitive Spirit book earns you experience points. This helps you step up to a higher rank and get a corresponding reward. Rank 2 gives you Signet of Speed (emblem), Rank 3 three SRL Champion's Ornament (ornament), Rank 4 Hoarfrost (shader), Rank 5 Amanda's Tag (gift key), Rank 6 Good Game (emote), Rank 7 Xur's Tag (gift key), Rank 8 EV-31 Nightbird with 150 speed (sparrow), Rank 9 Saladin's Tag (gift key), Rank 10 Dawn's Return (shader) and Rank 11 Star of Dawn (emblem).
You can use tags to unlock the large gifts in the Tower at the back of the Bounty board. Amanda's Tag unlocks the Sparrow Horn, a Legendary Engram. Xur's tag unlocks Exotic Engrams at the beginning of the Nova Mortis and Abaddon quest line. Saladin'd tag unlocks 50 motes of Light and three Days of Iron ornaments.

There are nine milestones to complete in Sparrow Racing. Complete races (In It to the finish) for a total of 25 EXP. Pass through gates (Precision Racing) for a total of 1,000 total of EXP. Land tricks (Tricky) for a total of 100 EXP. Defeat enemies (Speed Bumps) for a total of 50 EXP.
Bear the par race time on Campus Martius (Rad Racer) in 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Bear the par race time on Infinite Descent (Maximum Velocity) in 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Bear the par race time on Shining Sands (Sand Speeder) in 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Bear the par race time on Haakon Precipice (Slalom) in 5 minutes and 30 seconds.

Vangaurd Elite has eight playlists to complete. Beat the par score in the Heroic SIVA Crisis Strike Playlist (Heroic High Score) at 40,000 points. Beat the pa score in Nightfall Strikes (Champion of Night) at 55,000 points. Earn cumulative score in Rise of Iron's Strike playlists (Scores of Scores) at 500,000 points. Complete Vanguard Elite Bounties (Bounty Hunter) for a total of 20 points.
Rapidly earn primary, special and heavy streak medals to earn Rainbow Medals in Rise of Iron Strike playlists (Pot of Gold) for a total of 5 points. Earn spree medals in Rise of Iron Strike playlists (Killing Spree) for a total of 250 points. Earn super medals in Rise of Iron Strike playlists (Super Hero) for a total of 50 points. Earn completion medals in Rise of Iron Strike playlists (All the Medals) for a total of 20 points.
