Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 And 7 Get Jelly Bean Update

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Tab 2 7.0 started to receive the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update from December 2012 onwards. Now, Verizon customers have started to receive the software update over the air (OTA).

"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software update, SW Version, JZO54K.I915VRBMA3, for your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. This update includes an upgrade to the Android Operating System 4.1 (Jelly Bean)," Verizon's official statement said.

The update brings Google Now to the tablet and you can also add icons to the lock screen. The software update also moves certain enhancements like VPN client to the Settings Menu, while an event list frame has been added to Calendar. Google Security Patches were added for additional security and a zooming solution in the user interface has been implemented.

With the update, you can change translucent icons to non-translucent or opaque. The music player application has also been updated. For a full list of enhancements, visit Verizon's official release.

The software update to Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will bring Google Now, All Share and Pop Up Play to the device. The update will also bring enhancements such as Sync & Connect email enhancements; movies purchased from the Google Play store can be viewed; Backup Assistant & Media has been improved; Google Security Patches have been added, and more.
