Android Nougat Update For Xiaomi Phones
Android Nougat may no longer be big news at this point but it is worth noting that most smartphones (even flagship ones) are yet to get this update. With that, Android users are always waiting for confirmations about the Nougat rollout for their phones. As per the latest news, users of some Xiaomi phones can now celebrate as the company has already confirmed more of their phones that are getting the update.
It was just last week when the Nougat update was rolled out to the Xiaomi Mi 5 phone. Right now, the company has also confirmed that the update will also reach more Xiaomi phones. It was said that the Xiaomi Mi 4c, Xiaomi Mi 4s, Xiaomi Mi Note and the Xiaomi Mi Max will all be getting the Nougat update. This is on top of the Mi 5s, Mi Mix and Mi Note 2.
The report came from a Xiaomi representative's Weibo post, as per GSM Arena. Nevertheless, this only confirms the eligibility of these phones with the Android Nougat update. It's still not very clear as to when these phones will get the update, although, the news suggests that the update could roll out to these devices Q1 of next year.
Android updates are usually not the fastest to reach mobile phones. Most of the time, smartphone companies prioritize their most recent flagship devices. This means that older flagships and non-flagships have to wait months before getting the update, granted that they are eligible to get it. With that said, it is important for all Android users to be extra patient in waiting for the update. Do note that there are certain Android phones that have just received the Marshmallow update. Needless to say, for Xiaomi users, it's still good news that the company has already confirmed the devices eligible for the update. Hopefully, these phones will indeed get the rollout early next year.
