Everything We Know So Far About Atlus' New Fantasy Role-Playing Game

So a new role-playing game is up in the works and video gamers all over the world just can’t wait for it. The new video game comes from the developers who made one of the most popular game series of all time. With only few details revealed, here are everything what the developer has divulged so far.

The said game will be developed by Atlus, the company responsible for bringing the “Persona” series in to life with the first ever video game titled “Revelations: Persona”, which was released for PlayStation, PlayStation Portable (PSP), and Microsoft Windows back in September 1996. The “Persona” video game series became so popular that it spawned several installments as well as various adaptations that included an animated television series, manga novels, and more. And now, just a few months after releasing “Persona 5”, the company has revealed that it is developing a new role-playing game, which will be entirely different from the “Persona” and “Megami Tensei” series.

First of all, it will be a role-playing game that will venture more on fantasy coupled with a real and modern take of a story. Several video game developers in Japan have already voiced out their support for the said video game and are on board, anticipating its outcome and release. With that, they have even compared it to the likes of popular role playing video games such as the “Final Fantasy” series, “Dragon Quest” series, and even the “Persona” series.

On Christmas day, Atlus unveiled the first promotional video disclosing more information of this intriguing video game they are working on. The teaser, which can be watched below, revealed the working title of the game to be “Project Re Fantasy: A Fool’s Journey Begins”. It might be mouthful even for a temporary name but it suited the video, which featured the concept of the game.

Narrated by most likely the heroine of the series, the computer graphics animation alone is already impressive enough. The game clearly shows that it will be set in time when horses were the mode of transportation and people wielded swords and shields. Atlus has revealed earlier a concept of the pointed-ear heroine character donning red hair and combat gears fit for a knight. Hopefully, Atlus will reveal more details soon such as the date of release and for which gaming platforms it will be available. In the meantime, look out for the worldwide release “Persona 5” on April 4, 2017.
