NES Classic Edition

The NES Classic Edition is a very in-demand game. In fact, almost all stores don't have the stock anymore because on based on reports, people are really into it.

NES stands for Nintendo Entertainment System and it is also known as the Nintendo Classic Mini. It is a miniature video game console by Nintendo which launched on November 10, 2016, in Australia and Japan, November 11, 2016, in North America and Europe and November 23, 2016, in Russia.

NES Classic Edition Review

Despite the great demand of the NES Classic Edition and its great strong points, there are still weaknesses you see as you go through it. According to CNET, if you love retro games, you have to look for it very hard because more stores don't have the stocks anymore.

The NES Classic Edition which is said to be the miniature replica of the system released in the US in 1985, is also a plug-and-play box with 30 classic NES games installed, probably sounds like a dream come true for all collectors of console games.

Pros Of The NES Classic Edition

As reported by Trusted Reviews, there are pros for the NES Classic Edition. These are:

  • Some of the greatest games ever made for a bargain price
  • Adorable form factor that stays faithful to the old hardware
  • The best kind of nostalgia

The device is such a great proposition that it's either sold out everywhere or only available through resellers for three to five times the original price. But most people are saying that it is worth it. Aside from that, there are also games that made on sale for the people to avail it. The stand-alone NES Classic Edition bundles 30 NES games in one self-contained package for $60 only.

Nintendo has done an awesome job replicating the look and feel of the old hardware. The plastic of the NES unit itself feels exactly as you were playing the old unit of the same series. The NES controller has that slightly grainy matte colored black in front with the sign of letters A and B as its buttons.

Cons Of The NES Classic Edition

Asill according to Trusted Reviews, there are cons for the NES Classic Edition. These are:

  • A short controller cable that can’t be replaced
  • No way to expand the gaming library

As Engadget reviewed the NES Classic Edition, they found out that the games all play great but it has short controller cable. That means you need to sit a lot closer to the TV than you'd probably while you are playing on it. Although there are cable extensions, reviewers are considering it is not a great option because you have to push the reset button to pop back to the home menu.

Although the Nintendo's console game has a library of 30 popular games pre-loaded in it, still you want more from it. Unfortunately, the NES Classic Edition has no ability to upgrade software or access a marketplace to download other games.
