Microsoft Windows Blue In Action

The update for Windows 8 and RT, Microsoft Windows Blue, has been in the news for awhile now and a recent leaked video shows the upcoming operating system in action.

The build number of the OS being displayed on the leaked video is 9364 and the final version will end up installed on both the Microsoft Surface RT and the Microsoft Surface Pro. The video shows that the OS will bring Internet Explorer 11 with synced tabs, the ability to customize your device with choices of accent colors, and an improved settings page with a search and recently used/most used settings.

According to the leaked video, the new OS will have SkyDrive as part of PC Settings page where you can manage device backup and more. Users will also have the ability to automatically upload pictures and videos to SkyDrive based on quality.

Windows Blue will also bring new apps like Movie Moments, Calculator, Alarm and Voice Recorder. The OS will have improved multitasking with which you will be able to simultaneously work on three apps side-by-side. You will have the option of new live tile sizes like small, large and more.

Microsoft Windows OS have been very successful in the PC market for a long time; however, the company has yet to make an impression in the smartphone and tablet operating system. Microsoft recently launched its Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets, which feature the latest OS RT and Windows 8, are getting mixed opinions in the tablet space.

"Microsoft is working towards a public preview version of Windows Blue. Sources familiar with Microsoft's plans have revealed that the software giant is aggressively targeting a summer launch date for Windows Blue, ensuring its development cycle is short. Microsoft recently passed Milestone 1 for Windows Blue, but the company is now readying a Milestone Preview which will form the basis for a public preview," reported The Verge in February this year.
