Nintendo News RoundUp: A NES Classic Edition Bluetooth Controller, Nintendo Deals With 3DS Freeshop Piracy Concern, And Switch Mario Kart Rumor Proven Fake

Aside from news of the notoriously missing NES Classic Edition, Nintendo has been in the news lately for a number of things.

Here are just a few of the latest Nintendo buzz.

NES Classic Edition Bluetooth Controller

One of the main issues about the popular NES Classic Edition, aside from the lack of it, is the short controller cable. A number of products have already been primed as the solution to the said problem. Enter the NES30 Classic Edition Wireless Controller Set. The Bluetooth controller, which is made by 8Bitdo, boasts of having no cables and having more buttons than the original controller.

Using the NES30 is easy. Make sure the console is turned off before plugging the wireless controller in Port 1. Press the controller's Start button down for three seconds before pressing on the receiver's orange button. This will initiate the pairing. Once the blue LED lights on the receiver and the controller cease blinking, they are paired.

Nintendo 3DS Freeshop

Nintendo has put a stop to the 3DS Freeshop software due to piracy concerns.

"Nintendo believes the Freeshop application circumvents Nintendo's protection measures by decrypting the game files accessible from its eShop servers, allowing Freeshop users to access and play Nintendo's eShop games for free."

Freeshop was developed by someone who goes by the name The Cruel. The developer got hold of the take down and has since been dillydallying on what his next move would be.

"If anyone wants to know whether I'm going to counter it, I'm not sure yet. That could permit them to file a lawsuit against me... to claim [Freeshop] circumvents any protections is laughable, though I'm unsure if it's legally sound (the law is often laughable itself)."

As of now, Freeshop cannot be downloaded but current users still have access to it.

Super Mario Kart Rumors

A recent supposed leak about the Super Mario Kart game has been proven false.

WMG initially reported that Super Mario Kart would be available for the Nintendo Switch. The leak supposedly came from EB Games Australia. This rumor was followed by another one saying the game will have new characters, tracks and an improved Battle Mode.

While these rumors may eventually be proven true, they are not as of today. Daniel Vuckovic of Vooks tweeted that he was the one behind the leaked images. Vuckovic admitted that he used Webdev tools to breate the fake images because he was "REALLY bored".
