Pokémon GO Rumor: Niantic Brews Valentine's Day Event

Fresh from its triumphant Christmas event that had been capped off last Tuesday, Jan. 3, Niantic is now brewing in the lab the next major event for Pokémon GO. According to latest rumor roundup, the developer is speculated to have another treat up on it sleeve in February 2017.

Pokémon GO Valentine's Day Event

Events have become a major bait of game developers and publishers to urge players to come back and play, and this is nothing new at all for Pokémon GO. Per Otakukart report, Niantic has been predicted working out the Valentine's Day event which might be released a few days before Feb. 14. In terms of mechanics, the rumor suggests an almost similar concept with the previous holidays events of the game will be implemented during the Valentine's run, like the increased spawn rate.

Considering the Valentine's is a day of love and romance, it can be difficult for Niantic to incorporate this idea into the game's event. However, the developer might contemplate for the event to zero in on lures and incenses, then expand this concept further and come up with an exciting Valentine's Day event. Even so, Pokémon GO players have to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

Pokémon GO Spring Event

In the meantime, another reported event also has been making rounds in the Pokémon GO community. According to an IB Times report, the Legendary Pokémon might be coming in May during the game's Spring event. However, this report has been verified as well so details remain a speculation. Nevertheless, Legendary Pokémon--Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres--have previously been reported arriving soon but no release date has been dropped yet. What is certain for this year, Niantic will be changing paths, moving from festival-themed events in 2016 to seasonal events in 2017.
