Ford Says Hybrid Mustang And F-150 Are Coming

The Ford Mustang and F-150 are two of the most well-known vehicles in the American automaker's lineup and it appears that hybrid versions of these models are coming soon. Hybrids are quickly becoming some of the most sought out vehicle models and it looks like Ford has found an opportunity to capitalize on it.

The Hybrid Ford Mustang And F-150

As reported, the production of hybrid Ford Mustang and F-150 has been confirmed by Ford CEO, Mark Fields, last Tuesday during a press conference at the automaker's assembly plant in Flat Rock Mich. In the same report, the automaker assured that the hybrid Mustang will still be a powerful car as it can generate horsepower similar to the numbers the current V8 engine can produce. As for its arrival, it was mentioned that the hybrid Mustang will hit the American auto market by 2020.

The Ford F-150 Hybrid was said to be entering production by 2020. In addition, the hybrid Ford F-150 will still have a great rating in terms of towing capacity and it will have an interesting feature of being a mobile generator as reported.

Will There Be New Powertrains?

Whether there will be new powertrains for the hybrid Ford Mustang and F-150 remains to be seen. It was noted that the automaker has not yet revealed any details regarding the future powertrains of the hybrid Ford Mustang and F-150. Fields also did not say anything about replacing or improving the current engines found in the current petrol models of the Ford Mustang and F-150 as reported.

How The Hybrids Will Fare In The Market

Given the fact that hybrids models are steadily gaining popularity due to economic value and other factors, the hybrid Ford Mustang and F-150 stand a good chance of being accepted in the market. And with the two vehicles' stature, their arrival in the market is expected to have a warmer welcome. Of course, this remains to be seen until the hybrids actually arrive.
