According to Digital Trends, brands are aiming to find new ways to impress gamers with new PC gaming equipment and products. Razer's Project Ariana is taking things a step further with an innovative projector that spreads the Chroma ecosystem across your wall. This is a unique, impressive product that offers a better immersive gaming experience.

According to gaming products brand Razer, its Project Ariana is the first video projection system in the world that can provide a total gaming immersion.  The clarity of the projected image is high and truly extends your field of view. As the gamer jump, spin and fight, the image is keeping panoramic environments and tall buildings in view. When your vision is filled with the game, the immersive gaming experience is greatly improved.

Razer has chosen the fast-paced, first-person action of "Shadow Warrior 2" as the game title that makes a perfect demo for its ambitious Project Ariana. Playing the popular action game became a completely immersive experience with Razer's Project Ariana in combination with Philips Hue devices connected to Chroma.

How does it work?

Compared with a standard projector, Project Ariana is a bit more complex. The Razor device uses two depth-sensing cameras that are proprietary design of the company in order to scan the display and play area. Before to calibrate itself based on where the user has set it up, the projector blocks out any light that would splash on the screen.

The projection is spread out across a huge area using the fisheye lens, without the need of sitting very far away. The stringray-shaped housing is elegant and attractive, with a semi-gloss white shell and a matte black inspired from Razer's typical design process.

The technique used by the Project Ariana projector is closely related to one called "foveated rendering." While using less precise graphics around the screen, by keeping the highest quality output in the center of your eyes, Ariana can create the illusion of a fully detailed and immersive experience.

At the focus, your eyes actually see at a higher resolution than they do in the periphery. You won't notice any abnormalities caused by the obstacles on the wall or the projector itself, as long as you're watching the screen. Ariana might also provide awareness, aside from immersion. By flashing certain colors along the edge of your vision, its Chroma compatibility could be used to provide awareness of in-game events.

Conclusion

Even if Razer's Project Ariana is still very much a concept, it is clear that it's a product considering for release down the road, a product the brand is excited about. According to Slash Gear, Razer's Project Ariana has shown its potential this week at CES 2017 by having Chroma lighting in full-room immersion. The company has already announced that it would be making Razer Chroma open to third-party partners. This means that this concept will become soon a real-deal product, a production device. It is expected that Razer's Project Ariana will become available for purchase sometime by the end of the year 2017.
