AMD Radeon RX 570 News, Update: New 500-Series Chip Features 8GB VRAM As Seen On New Samsung Notebook

The AMD Radeon RX 500 Series is still shrouded in mystery at this point, but a slew of small reveals has been taking the internet by storm. The most recent appearance of the mysterious new chips involves the AMD Radeon RX 570 with up to 8GB of VRAM.

Samsung Notebook Odyssey To Get AMD Radeon RX 570 In 8GB Or 4GB

The AMD Radeon RX 570 was spotted on the specifications list of the upcoming Samsung Notebook Odyssey during the CES 2017 event. Under "Graphics," the said graphics card was listed with either 4GB or 8GB of memory. It would look like consumers would either get it or the Nvidia GTX 1070, which hints that the upcoming AMD chip possesses more or less the same power as its competitor.

Reddit user crazybubba64 claimed that it is not a typo, according to the Samsung representative at the CES 2017 booth. However, no additional details were divulged then. An AMD representative, on the other hand, confirmed that the AMD Radeon RX 570 chip is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) version of the RX 470. That puts the whole 500 series as an OEM rebrand of the 400 series, noted the Redditor.

Lenovo Y520 Previously Leaked With AMD Radeon RX 560M

This recent leak followed just a few days after the internet saw a presumed unintentional reveal of another one from AMD's 500 Series: the RX 560M. Lenovo's description of their upcoming Y520 laptop mentioned it having Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti or the RX 560M for its "next-generation graphics." It can be concluded that the AMD Radeon RX 560M competes directly with the recently unveiled GTX 1050.

As of now, there are little to no details about AMD's new lineup. It is entirely possible that they are based on the new Vega 10 architecture, but consumers may still see some Polaris-based GPUs mixed in. Pricing, release date and other details should be revealed soon.
