Why 'Nintendo NES Classic' Was Available In Best Buy For Just 20 Minutes?

It has been months since the NES Classic Edition officially went on sale, and until now, Nintendo still hasn't managed to produce consistent supplies for people to spend all of their money on. Amazon, Target, and Walmart are all still currently out of stock, and demand hasn't sagged-off one bit.

NES Classic on Best Buy

According to recent reports, Best Buy had the NES Classic Edition in stock for online sales at about 10:30 this morning. But you shouldn't bother loading up your browser right now since it was out of stock within a matter of minutes - 20 minutes to be exact, way too quick for even the shortest of blog posts.

Getting your hands on an NES

The point of this isn't to make you jealous for the few hundred people who surprisingly got their hands on an NES console, it's to help you get on the next sale. As per reports, in addition to selling via its official website, Best Buy was also selling consoles through its official eBay store.

That online store gets less traffic and is generally not as well known, so if you would set up an alert for the eBay Store, there's a really good chance that you'll get a console the next time it's in stock.

How to set up an alert

You can use services like Visualping or others to set up an alert notification for any significant change in Best Buy's eBay page. The NES Classic Edition was the first product listed on the page while it was still in stock, so a simple alert definitely should do.

Then, you will want to make sure that you have an eBay account ready so you can spring on the stock as soon as it's made available.

If you don't get any luck with the eBay page, or if you just want to limit your bets, the NowInStock website also has a Target stock checker and a way to add yourself to a Google Group to be alerted whenever the NES Classic Edition is in stock.
