Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle Updates: Intro Leaked Online

A lot of people are gearing up for the "Power Rangers" reboot which is set to come out this year, and Bandai Namco looks to be bringing back some classic "Power Rangers" gameplay with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle. The intro for the game has been leaked online, and though it does not have any gameplay footage, it does give fans an idea of what to expect from the game.

The clip was uploaded on Anime Games Online, and it gives fans a look at some returning characters from the series like Zordon, Alpha 5 and Rita Repulsa. The look of the characters seems to harken back to the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series from the 90s, and the clip also gives a look at characters Jason (Red Ranger), Billy (Blue Ranger), Kimberly (Pink Ranger), Trini (Yellow Ranger) and Zack (Black Ranger).

The best guess is that Mega Battle will try to look back to earlier games in the franchise, most notably the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game on the SNES which came out in 1994. Interestingly enough, that game was also produced by Bandai, and it let players walk around as the regular civilian version of the characters before they morphed into their more powerful Ranger forms. Though this version of the game only let players use the original five rangers, Mega Battle looks to include a playable Green Ranger.

According to Game Fragger, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle is set to be available for download in the Playstation Store and Xbox Network this month. With the movie set out to release this coming March, it is possible that the developers of the movie have tapped Bandai to make the game to add hype to the movie's release.

No official release date has been set for the game, but expect Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle to be available this January.
