Clash Of Clans Developer Supercell Is Under Fire

Clash of Clans is probably among the biggest mobile games in the industry of recent memory. And with such quantity, it's safe to say that it has a huge player pool to present. This is where Supercell will play a huge role as a developer. That it has to ensure the security of its players. Unfortunately, the game has reportedly suffered a massive security breach.

According to Motherboard, a good number (over a million, so to speak) of Clash of Clans user accounts were compromised. This is due to an eerie breach in the game's security. The event resulted to a leak of various user details. This already includes email addresses, usernames, IP addresses and passwords, among others.

Supercell confirmed the infamous Clash of Clans hacking. The sad thing here is the fact that it already existed back in September 2016. That the studio only chose to reveal this information recently. The good thing, though, is that the breach only managed to damage the Forum service. Apart from that, everything's believed to be working properly.

It's worth noting that not a single game account in Clash of Clans was compromised. As what the studio announced, every single user account is fine. Hence players are advised not to worry about their game being hacked or something.

The studio has already informed the Clash of Clans community on preventive measures. For instance, the developers have shared a way to reset the passwords of their users. There's even a link included, so as to help the fandom change their details accordingly. All of these can be checked via the statement the company released.

Supercell also advised the Clash of Clans community to review if the log-in details they used in the forum are the same with ones they used in other personal or business accounts. And if so, the studio said that it would be best to change or update them right away. This is because the hackers might use this information without the knowledge of the user.
