Xiaomi MI2S Benchmarks Beat Galaxy S4, Xperia Z, HTC One, LG Optimus G Pro

High-end Chinese smartphone developer Xiaomi Tech announced the MI2S and MI2A devices at a fan event in Beijing. Its Xiaomi MI2 model from last year received a specifications upgrade with the MI2S.

The Xiaomi MI2S was clocked at 1.7 GHz and has the same quad-core system on chip (SoC) Snapdragon 600 processor, Krait 300 CPU found in the Samsung Galaxy S4, model GT-19505. In Antutu benchmark tests, the Xiaomi MI2S beat the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is clocked at 1.9 GHz.

In a comprehensive performance comparison, the Xiaomi MI2S showed better results than some of the highest rated, top of the line smartphones currently on the market. This includes the soon to be released Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z and the LG Optimus G Pro. The performance test score for the Xiaomi MI2S was 25913, with the Samsung Galaxy S4 not far behind with a score of 23607. The HTC One ended with a score of 22678 and the Xperia Z was slightly lower, with 20794. The LG Optimus Pro scored 20056 on the benchmark tests.

Quadrant tests earned another victory for the Xiaomi MI2S with a score of 12868 and the LG Optimus G scored 12105. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was just below with 12028 and the HTC One scored 11746. The Sony Xperia Z scored much lower in comparison to the other devices with a score of 8075. The Xiaomi MI2S sports a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a 13MP rear facing camera and is powered by a 2000mAh battery.
