There have recently been ruins discovered by archaeologists that could have been traces and evidences of the time called the "Dark Ages." This was situated in Britain, just shortly after the fall of the Western Roman Empire.

Ruins Discovered By Archaeologists; Could Be From The Time Of The "Dark Ages"

It can be recalled that after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, chaos ruled the lands when the barbarians swept away the lands. Thus, kingdoms quickly fell to the ground after being destroyed and the grand structures of the times called the "Dark Ages" have been considered erased. However, there have been reports claiming that archaeologists have recently dug up remains of those ages, buried deep down into the ground of existence. Although not all, the core of one of those kingdoms may have just been discovered.

Evidences Lead To Assumption Of The Ruins Belonging To The Kingdom Of Rheged During The Year 600

A new book has recently been released about its recent findings, entitled "The Lost Dark Age Kingdom of Rheged." This is about how these archaeologists managed to have stumbled upon the original earthworks that existed at Trusty's Hill in Galloway. An excavation was done around the engravings, when they stumbled upon timber and stone works, and more digging even revealed a smith's workshop which used both silver and gold during its time and even the traces of a royal hall was discovered. It allegedly used to be called the "nucleated fort," which served as a shield in protecting the royalty from the enemies of the surrounding land.

The excavation was led by a team called the "GUARD Archaeology" along with its 60 volunteers for the study. According to them, the ruins that they have found date back to the year 600, which was clearly owned by a royal family or one of a high status during the time. It is also possible, although not yet confirmed, that it could have been the heart of the entire Kingdom of Rheged, ruled by King Urien. The evidences and facts gathered have been promising to indicate that the ruins did belong to the Kingdom of Rheged as the standards of the ruins recovered could even pass as royalty even in this generation. However, there are still symbols on the discovered ruins that are yet to remain a mystery until further studied.
