Clash Royale News: Here Are The Upcoming Fixes For The Executioner

Almost all competitive players agree that the Executioner is the most overpowered card to be released in the game. With the troop's ability to solely counter most archetype decks such as Lava Hounds, Spawner decks and more, many are already expecting for the nerf hammer to come. What they didn't know is that, the Executioner wasn't meant to be as strong as he is right now as most of the mechanics of the troop were actually bugs. Today, Supercell clarified that they will be fixing the Executioner and here are everything that you need to know:

Clash Royale: Supercell Fixing The Executioner

The Clash Royale official subreddit account stated that the developers will be fixing the Executioner in the next update. According to the thread, the strengths of the Executioner stemmed from the unintentional bug from the Epic troop and since the changes that needed to be done were quite large, Supercell wouldn't be able to apply the fixes in a single maintenance break; ergo it'll be added into the list of the balance changes for the next patch update.

List of Executioner Bug Fixes

Fix a bug where axe resets the attack animation of troops upon hit. (Mini-stun). Damages troops behind him when axe returns. Fix a bug where his axe goes out of the arena and is stuck indefinitely. Additional 1 tick of damage occurs in front of him when his axe is fully extended.

According to Clash Royale, these mechanics were not intentional and thus, fans can expect that aside from these fixes, if the developers are planning to nerf the card, there are a separate list of nerfs bound to be slated for the next balance changes.

Did Supercell Actually Use The Bugs As Marketing Strategy?

While the fixes seemed to be great news to balance out the meta, fans are baffled as to how Supercell missed some of the conspicuous bugs especially the Mini-stun mechanic. According to them, if they did a "field test" on the new card; even for just a couple of times, the mini-stun mechanic would've easily been spotted. Due to how clearly visible the bug is, many are wondering, "Did Supercell actually used the bug as a marketing strategy?"

One fan pointed out that after the significant buff on the Elite Barbarians, many players started cashing in to buy for the upgrades for the card. Based on this, one could somehow say that getting upgrades for the most unbalanced card in the game could potentially rake in more profits, right? And so, did Supercell really intended for the "bug" to occur? Well, we will leave the answers to your imagination for this one.

In other news, Competitive Team Matches are now available on Clash Royale GameBattles.
