'Orange Is The New Black' Season 5: Laverne Cox Hints Plot Details

Actress Laverne Cox gave fans some details on "Orange is the New Black" season 5. She revealed there will be a lot of heart-stopping moments as the series returns on Netflix in June. Previously, it was revealed that the whole season will take place for a span of only three days.

"Orange is the New Black" season 4 ended with a cliffhanger last year which ended with a massive riot, the guards on their knees and Daya (Dascha Polanco) with a gun pointed at their heads. But the million dollar question is, did Daya fire the gun?

"It is really juicy and really amazing," Cox told PEOPLE in an interview. "If you're a fan, and I'm a fan of the show even as a person who is on it when I got the script I felt like I was tearing into it. When actually, it was on my iPad [and I was] scrolling down like, 'What happens?' because it was a cliffhanger at the end of season 4."

The riot rooted from the privatization and overcrowding of the facility. The tension further rose with the death of Poussey Washington (Samira Wiley), which the authorities wanted to cover up. Cox added all 13-episodes are happening over a three-day period but a lot of things will happen. "We are jamming a lot in," she said.

Dead bodies are expected when the series returns. The three-day span will also add suspense to the story. Meanwhile, Movie News Guide revealed that the short timeline will mean that Piper (Schilling) will get to stay longer in Litchfield Penitentiary. There is no mention of extending her prison time but this might mean fans might get to see her beyond Season 5

The series also teases the consequences of the riot and Daya's gun stunt. A teaser for season 5 warned, "Things will never be the same again." "Orange is the New Black" season 5 will premiere on June 9.
