HTC M4 Leak: HTC One Mini Keeps All That's Great In A Smaller Affordable Smartphone

A leaked picture of the HTC M4 has leaked and HTC shows no signs of slowing down when capitalizing on the success of the HTC One. It will be bringing more smartphones to market that will carry the high-end build of the flagship smartphone, but with mid-range specs in order to keep the price down.

It is believed that HTC is taking a page out of Samsung's book, with sources comparing the codenamed HTC M4 as being the HTC One's version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini. The HTC M4 will shed its codename and become part of the HTC One series of smartphones. It makes sense HTC would create a series of HTC One smartphones for the high-end, mid-range, and low-end market.

Sources have described the HTC M4 as:

"The M4 (expect it to ship with some manner of One branding) is supposed to be nearly identical -- in appearance, if not in materials, as you can plainly see -- to its big brother. Besides a cookie-cutter form factor (though smaller, to accommodate just a 4.3-inch, 720p display), the M4 also apparently maintains the same design elements in nearly the same positioning as the One, making the two handsets difficult to differentiate."

According to sources, HTC will be able to make the smartphone less expensive than the flagship HTC One by using a smaller 4.3-inch 720p display instead of the 4.7-inch display found on the HTC One. The HTC M4 also use a dual-core processor in place of the quad-core processor found in the HTC One. Other reported specs include Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 4G LTE radio, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, the UltraPixel camera found in the HTC One, and a 1,700 mAh non-removable battery,

The HTC M4 is expected to ship sometime in the second quarter and will please anyone looking to get the design and quality of the HTC One in a more affordable package.
