Crash Bandicoot Trilogy Remaster Hints at Other Potential Platforms

Developers Vicarious Visions has shared more details and the release date of their upcoming game. However, there might be a chance that the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy Remaster might simply be a timed exclusive and could head to other consoles soon.

Crash Bandicoot Trilogy Remaster Launches With New Content

According to PC Advisor, Naughty Dog will be releasing their upcoming game soon on the PS4. Moreover, the said game will actually include three titles: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. To clarify, the game itself is almost a balance between a remaster and a remake.

Developer Vicarious Visions claimed that the original games are roughly 20 years old with technology reaching new bounds since then. Because of this, the original codes and assets were almost nearly unusable but the developers were still able to draw some of its content. With this in mind, the N.Sane Trilogy is not a remake as it still keeps the standard formula but rather it is a 'remaster plus.'

While the formula is still intact, the developers changed some of the levels as they added their own touch to the game. Meanwhile, the music has also been rerecorded while the character models and cinematics have been rebuilt. There will also be new features to the game like a unified checkpoint, new save game system (includes manual and automatic), improved menu system and the inclusion of Time Trials.

Upcoming Game Heading to Other Platforms?

That aside, those without a PS4 and PS4 Pro might be in luck as PlayStation Ireland tweeted that the game would be coming to the said consoles 'first,' as per GameSpot. In terms of wording, the company is heavily implying that the game is going to be a timed exclusive and will eventually make its way to other consoles soon. PlayStation Ireland nor publisher Activision has yet to make any further comments about this.

Fans will have to wait for further news regarding any additional features coming to the game. Those who want to play the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy Remaster can play it on June 30 on the PS4. On the other hand, there might be a chance that it will reach other platforms in the near future.
