The good thing with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is that it allows players to basically do whatever they like and travel wherever they'd like to go. It also boasts a lot of amazing content and features so it comes to no surprise that eventually players would be gunning for the most powerful items right at the beginning of the game. It's just a question if they are able to get to the area where the item is located and if they are able to obtain the item.

Where To Find The Master Sword

According to RPG Site, the player first needs to locate the Lost Woods which can be found just north of the Hyrule Castle. Once at the castle, players need to go northeast find the nearest tower which is the Woodlands tower. From the Woodlands tower, players just need to follow the path north then west, this would then lead them to the Lost Woods.

After entering the Lost Woods, players just need to follow the torches until they see two torches opposite each other in front of a tree with a face. At this point, there are two options the player can choose from. The player can either look for trees with scary faces like the one before and follow the path where their branches are pointing to or to just light up the torch, which is lying in front of the two torches and follow the path where the embers of the torch is going.

Once followed, the player will exit the Lost Woods and would be entering the Korok Forest. At this point, all the player needs to do is go forward to see the Master Sword which is right in front of the Great Deku Tree.

How To Obtain The Master Sword

In an article by VG247, once the player sees the sword, player should first head to the right of the Great Deku Tree to find then activate the Keo Ruug Shrine, this is so that if players wish to return to the area, they could just fast travel to the shrine. Once done, return to the sword again and listen to the story that the Great Duke Tree would tell.

Afterwards, players may now attempt to pull out the sword, however it can only be done if or when the player has 13 full hearts. These hearts need to be real hearts, not hearts that are obtained through cooking or buffs. If a player with less than 13 hearts attempts to pull out the sword, it may eventually kill the character. Now to get more hearts, players just need to trade Spirit Orbs at any goddess Hylia Statue to get a heart container, specifically the player needs to trade four Spirit Orbs to get one heart container.

What's So Special About The Master Sword

The Master Sword is one of the best swords if not the best sword in the game. It has an infinite durability, meaning that it does not break. Also, if the player has full health and tries to throw the sword, it would then instead fire a beam.

Furthermore, it has a base damage of 30 but it becomes more powerful in certain parts of the game. When the player enters an area where the influence of Ganon is particularly strong, the sword will glow a bright blue and the base damage of 30 will then increase to 60. This would make the sword particularly effective against dungeon bosses or even against Ganon.

Only players who have obtained the sword can judge if it really is the best weapon in the game. However, they would also need to take note that the more the player uses the sword, the redder it gets and at a certain point it would be unusable until it has cooled down.
