Final Fantasy VII Remake News: Tetsuya Nomura Clarifies Details About The Game In An Interview

The Final Fantasy VII remake is far from being released as it is still roughly in the middle of development. Fortunately, Square Enix and Tetsuya Nomura are more than happy to update all the eagerly anticipating players and fans with the progress of the highly anticipated remake. As of the moment, Tetsuya Nomura weighs in on the reaction of fans towards the previously released screenshots of the remake and clarifies some aspects of the game in a magazine interview.

Details Of The Previous Screenshots Of The Remake

The screenshots were previously released by Square Enix on Twitter in a bid to tease fans and players of the remake of the highly acclaimed Final Fantasy VII. The company tweeted a picture of the Guard Scorpion Boss and of Cloud hiding behind a crate. These two pictures would then become iconic in the gaming community, as it show some of the important developments that Square Enix is doing including the graphics and the gameplay.

Video Game Director, Tetsuya Nomura said then that, he hasn't announced a lot of exciting details to the fans last 2016, but went on to promise that 2017 will be a year that fans would get to see more Cloud Strife and the progress of the Remake. However, he also mentioned that the release of the titles will still be a long way off.

Tetsuya Nomura Discusses More About The Remake In An Interview Amidst The Reaction Of Fans

In an article by Desctructoid, Tetsuya Nomura discussed a little bit more about the Final Fantasy VII remake on a Japanese Magazine called Famitsu, since there are some fans who are a little bit concerned about the image of Cloud taking cover behind a crate. This image led to them thinking that the game would mean that players would rely on cover to shield themselves. However, Nomura said that using cover in the game is optional and that it is only used to show the seamless actions possible in different situations. He also added that the combat in the remake would be action based and not command based as previously reported.

Furthermore, Nomura also discussed the image of the battle against the Guard Scorpion Boss. He noted that the battle will be really flashy in the remake and it includes environmental destruction and some other attacks that weren't seen before.

Lastly, in the interview, Nomura discussed about the release of the game. He said that the idea that the remake of Final Fantasy VII would not fit on a single release was present even at the beginning. And as of the moment, he cannot explain any further about the multiple parts of the game and would like to encourage people to look forward to other announcements that he or the company would make in the near future.
