Adobe's 'Sensei' Just Made An AI Photo App That Will Revolutionize Selfies

Adobe has launched a demo reel of a new a smartphone app that uses artificial intelligence to transform all your bad selfies into cool works of art. The company has developed an imaging branch called Sensei, which focuses on machine learning to transform an ordinary picture with a variety of advanced photo editing tools. With this app, you don't have to worry about the perfect lighting to snap a selfie.

Though the company has not named the app or even confirmed its existence yet, the exciting photo editor tools demonstration on the demo video suggests the teaser is showing off an actual product that the company has in the works. Included in the teaser is deep photo style transfer which works by altering the depth of field. Another interesting tool, called Liquify, manipulates the picture to look like it was taken from a better, more flattering angle.

According to the Independent, a third feature on the AI-powered Adobe app allows users to replicate the lighting and effects seen in another photo. The process will take the user to browse through random images and opens two he likes, then try out the various new styles by applying them to his pictures on the camera roll.

According to the Daily Mail, the combination of perspective effect photo editing, software-only photo masking, and automatic photo style transfer technology enables the app to give an advanced photo editing tools. The trio of AI-powered elements effectively identifies facial features and make small adjustments in both the person’s pose and appearance. The new selfie technology also lets users minimize or accentuate certain facial features.

Great portrait photography could finally be automatically achieved by Adobe Sensei app. With the right perspective, equipment, and editing expertise all rolled in one app in your phone, taking selfies could be exceptionally easy. The company shared in their video that this new technology is just a peek into the future potential of mobile portrait photography.
