All New Turbocharged 2017 Honda Civic Si Revealed

The all new Civic lineup is ready and complete. This week, Honda will introduce the 2017 Honda Civic Si in sedan and coupe formats, which will fill the last tenth-generation Civic model range. It joins the base-model Civic (sedan and coupe), the Civic hatchback and of course the thrilling Civic Type R.

With 205 horsepower, the 2017 Si doesn't get a huge power bump over the old 201-hp model, however, it will arrive from a new 1.5-liter turbocharged, a massive turbocharged-four-cylinder. Based on the outstanding unit in the regular Civic, the Si's engine generates 192 lb-ft of torque between 2300-5000 rpm. Hooked up to a six-speed manual and the new Si should provide tons of real world performance. The Civic Si is still exclusively available with a manual transmission, and the new model is also lighter and solid than the old Si.

More so, it also receives adaptive dampers, stickier tires, and larger brakes, alongside with upper control arms from the Civic Type R up front. Interestingly, other remarkable features of the Civic Si are electronic parking brake, climate control, automatic wipers, automatic dual-zone and a 7-inch multimedia screen display which supports Apple CarPlay and as well as Android Auto. Also, comes with a 450-watt audio system with no fewer than 10 speakers. On the other note, as for the inside, comes with sport-type heated front seats including lateral support and red stitching, red TFT instrumentation pedals and the noteworthy carbon elements on the dashboard.

Furthermore, both the Civic Si coupe and sedan will hit dealers next month. As for the Price, no official announcement yet, however, Honda will sell the Civic Si as both a coupe and sedan with a base price in the mid-$20,000 range. We'll have a closer look at the 2018 Civic Si at the New York Auto Show next week.
