Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda series will be getting its very own mobile spinoff title in the near future. The iconic series will be joining other franchises like Mario and Fire Emblem which have seen their own mobile titles as well.

The Legend Of Zelda Mobile Game Confirmed

According to USAToday, Nintendo is bringing over another of its iconic franchises to the mobile market. Details surrounding the Zelda mobile game are still under wraps, but it is scheduled to be released following the highly-anticipated Animal Crossing mobile game later this year. With this in mind, Nintendo officially stated that it has "nothing to announce" on its Zelda mobile project.

The series generally follows the story of Link going on an adventure to save the princess of Hyrule, Zelda. The previous titles have followed a standard formula in the series with Breath of the Wild being the first game to incorporate entirely new mechanics. The said game has become a huge hit for Nintendo with copies of the title outselling the Nintendo Switch.

Fire Emblem Heroes Dominates Super Mario Run

Nintendo is slowly rolling out more games for the mobile market evident by Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes. In line with this, Polygon shares that Heroes outperformed the mobile Mario game despite its more recent release. Nintendo has gotten over 20 billion yen from the tactical title while it is still struggling with converting free users into paying ones in Super Mario Run.

Similarly, the company has yet to reach its goal of converting at least 10 percent of the overall players who have downloaded the app. Company president Tatsumi Kimishima event stated that the game did not meet their expectations, but they would still like to continue their hand at the "premium mobile game business model."

With this in mind, only time will tell what type of plans Nintendo has for The Legend of Zelda mobile game. Until then, fans will just have to wait for further information about the upcoming installment.
