Samsung Galaxy Book 12: A 2-in-1 Surface Pro Rival To Beat

The Samsung Galaxy Book rightfully belongs on the quickly growing list of powerful Microsoft Surface Pro rivals. Samsung revamped one of its 2016 hybrids while accordingly creating a challenger to Microsoft's Surface lineup.

Samsung is known for its outstanding displays, and the company stays true to its reputation with the Super AMOLED, an FHD+ screen on the Galaxy Book. The size of the display feels just right for being able to get a lot of work done without the device getting too bulky. And the Galaxy Book comes along with a digital pen found to work smoothly.

Samsung equipped the Galaxy with all sorts of tablet niceties, like a top-oriented power button and volume rocker, and a rear-facing 13-megapixel camera and a 5MP webcam front-facing camera. More so, the Galaxy Book has a pair of USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. That's a common set of configurations for the category, and even outmatch the new Surface Pro, which only features a Type-A USB Port. One of the Samsung Galaxy Book's major edge over the Surface Pro line is that it comes with a keyboard case and stylus. Samsung promises "up to 11 hours" of battery life with the 12-inch Book.

The price of $1,430, for the Core i5 model matched with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which seems reasonable, especially when comparing it with many of the highly portable to-end laptops now on the market. An all-rounder laptop ideal for professionals who seek a 2-in-1 and who can live with USB-C, this laptop is worth to invest. The Galaxy Book is a real productivity hybrid laptop with the bonus of being flexible and highly portable. It is surely a 2-in-1 that Microsoft will need to worry.
