As we make greater advances with technology, transportation also continues to evolve as well. Now, getting around is much easier than it was in the past. But despite all the progress that's been made, the transportation trends are not commonly talked about, especially in regards to the future.

Smart Cars

Smart cars are a trend that already have a bit of recognition. This automobile is unique; their function is identical to that of a traditional car. What makes them different is the fuel they use. The concept of a smart car is to cut back on fossil fuels. Gas prices are constantly fluctuating, which makes it difficult to budget around. Not only that, but they also damage the environment around us. It's a common form of air pollution that causes smog and other VOCs to contaminate the very we breathe in.

Unlike a traditional car, smart cars are designed to run on electricity via fuel cells. It's true that a lot of models of smart cars these days still run on gas. However, smart cars that use gas are designed to cut down on carbon emissions. Within time, we might see smart cars that can run purely on rechargeable batteries.

Upgraded GPS Systems

GPS systems may have been around for ages, but like the cars themselves, they're also seeing new upgrades to their hardware. GPS systems are best known for their ability to help navigate you to a certain location. But thanks to how transportation technology has evolved over the years, GPS systems these days are much more reliable. They provide visual representation of your desired route, tell you the weather, and can even send alerts in the event of a break-in. Due to how innovative GPS devices have become, they are now considered a staple in cars. In fact, they're actually built into the car itself and usually no longer considered a perk.

E-Bikes

E-bikes are the alternative to both a regular bicycle and a car. They are modified versions of a bicycle that come with a small engine. These engines are used to help the rider control when maneuvering it. The engines are powered by a specific type of battery. However, the battery you'll need depends on the type of engine the bike has. For example, it's important to understand the measurements of the engine, so you don't accidentally buy a battery that doesn't fit.

Autonomous Vehicles

AVs, or autonomous vehicles, are self-driving cars that let actually drives all on its own. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, AVs can sense what's around them using sensors, radar and high-tech GPS systems. Aside from being able to navigate on their own, these automated cars and trucks will eventually be able to make deliveries without having a driver inside. They're also expected to have a huge impact for people suffering from disabilities. In addition to the above-mentioned trends, there are also innovative skateboards and scooters that make getting around a breeze. And while most people probably feel safer being the one behind the wheel, so to speak, it's still nice to kick back and go along for the ride sometimes.
