The next-generation Samsung Galaxy S6 may sport wireless charging capabilities, if a new company blog post is any indication.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is one of the most hotly-anticipated devices of this year and is expected to make its official debut at the company's Galaxy Unpacked event on March 1, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015.

With the big unveiling just around the corner, Samsung has recently started to do some teasing of its own to boost excitement. The company first teased the advanced camera capabilities of its next-generation flagship smartphone, and now it dropped more hints regarding wireless charging.

According to a new company blog post, 2015 will be an important year for smartphone wireless charging, which suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship should come with built-in wireless charging capabilities.

"It is expected that 2015 will be a landmark year for the growth of wireless charging deployment, as wireless charging stations will begin to appear in more and more public places. Samsung will accelerate to democratize this wireless charging technology with compelling smartphones. With our upcoming Galaxy smartphones, users will be able to enter a new wireless world like never before," touts the company.

While the blog post doesn't specifically say that the Galaxy S6 will come with wireless charging, all hints lead in this direction.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to come with major improvements on all fronts compared to its predecessor, boasting top-notch specs and features all around and a more premium design. The current Galaxy S5 received plenty of criticism for not being innovative enough, but Samsung reportedly has big plans for its next-generation Galaxy S6.

The upcoming flagship is rumored to sport at least a metal frame, if not a premium full-metal body, feature improved cameras, a better fingerprint reader, an enhanced TouchWiz interface without heavy bloatware, and many other exciting features. Samsung has also reportedly ditched Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip in favor of an in-house Exynos processor for the Galaxy S6. If those rumors turn out to be accurate and the smartphone comes with wireless charging capabilities as well, it may indeed be the impressive flagship fans are waiting for.

Nevertheless, take everything with a grain of salt until the official announcement.
