Moto 360 now $100 off for grad season – Limited-time deal

Motorola is having a neat promotion for its popular Moto 360 smartwatch, dropping $100 off the gadget's price tag as part of a limited-time deal.

The Moto 360 was one of the launch vehicles for Google's Android Wear operating system and was among the most popular smartwatches of 2014. At a time when all smartwatches sported rectangular form factors, the Moto 360 launched with a round, classical design that received high-praise.

Combining smartwatch capabilities with a traditional watch design was apparently a successful recipe for the Moto 360, as many consumers preferred the round-shaped gadget from Motorola over competing devices from Samsung, LG and others.

In terms of specifications, Motorola's Moto 360 sports a 1.56-inch LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels and packs a TI OMAP 3 processor under the hood, paired with 512MB of RAM. The smartwatch comes with 4GB of internal storage capacity and a 320 mAh battery. Back in March, Motorola also started allowing interested shoppers to customize the Moto 360 through Moto Maker, in order to better suit their tastes and preferences.

On the software side, the Moto 360 runs Android Wear and is compatible with any smartphone running Android 4.3 or higher.

Although it's not the latest smartwatch on the market anymore, the Moto 360 still holds its own and is still widely popular among consumers. Motorola now aims to make it more attractive with a neat new promotion, shaving $100 off the gadget's regular price tag.

"A modern take on the classic graduation present. Paired with any Android smartphone, Moto 360 will keep your grad informed, on schedule and going in the right direction on the road ahead," Motorola touted in a promotional email.

"Customize Moto 360 with Moto Maker for your favorite graduate and save $100 (regular price $249.99)."

As previously mentioned, this offer is available for a limited time only, as the deal is set to expire at 10:59 AM CT on June 9, 2015. Once the promotion expires, the Moto 360 will return to its regular pricing of $249.99. Moto 360 upgrades are also available, but at an extra cost.
