‘Rocket League Championship Series’ – 2nd Season Registration Opens With $250,000 Prize Pool

The Rocket League Championship Series is now accepting registration for its second season. A total of $250,000 pool prize is at stake.

Game Developer Psyonix representative Jeremy Dunham said that the first season's competition has helped them a lot in making improvements in the upcoming games. Psyonix will once again team up with its game publisher Twitch in hosting this year's Rocket League completion.

Bigger Prize Money for Rocket League Champions

The first season of the Rocket League Championship was able to attract thousands of participating individuals and teams from North America and Europe, according to Gaming Trend. The initial season also attracted more than two million people to watch the Rocket League series.

The RLCS organizers promised that the upcoming season will be better and more streamlined than the previous season. Feedback from the fans helped them a lot, according to Dunham.

How to Join and Participate in the Rocket League Competition Series

Participants must group themselves into a three-man team and register with the organizers. The Rocket League series however, is only open to PlayStation 4 and Steam platform owners, according to the official Rocket League sports site.

The RLCS competition will approximately take at least three months to complete. The first week of qualifying rounds will start on September 10 for North American players and September 11 in Europe. The second qualifying week will commence on September 17 and 18, respectively.

After the Mid-season Classic on October 8 and 9, around $10,000 would have been distributed to the winners. The top six winning team from the League Play will battle each other in the Regional Playoffs on November five and six.

In the RLCS Grand Finals, the four top teams from North America and Europe will battle it out for a total grand prize of $125,000.
