Pokémon Sun and Moon Tips And Tricks: How To Easily Catch Wimpod

One of the main characters in Pokémon Sun and Moon uses Golisopod, an evolved version of Wimpod which makes the latter a highly sought-after Pokémon in the game. But Wimpod can be elusive if you don't know where to find the Pokémon or even if you did find one, you'd simply be irritated on how fast it can slip away from your fingers. Today, we're going to give you the best tip on how you can easily catch a Wimpod.

Pokémon Sun and Moon Tips: How to Find Wimpod

First thing to note is that, you won't catch Wimpod by simply wandering around and hoping for it to pop-up like any usual Pokémon. Instead, you need to go to a specific location in order to find it. So the first thing you need to do is to fly to the Pokémon Center in Route 8 (Alola) and from there, you have to walk directly outside. You will find a little detour to the left side where you will find a little beach. Here, you can easily spot the Wimpod across the the field but do NOT approach it, otherwise, it'll just run off into a tunnel. In order for you to catch it, you need to do a simple trick.

Now, head straight into the water and use a Ride Pokémon. From here, you'll see a couple of rocks which you can easily break. Once you successfully break the rocks, head back into the adjacent shore and then block the hole of Wimpod's escape route. Basically, what you're trying to do is to cut off and intercept Wimpod once it gets back into the tunnel after seeing you. This is the simplest and easiest method to catch a Wimpod without using the Tauros speed boost trick.

Pokémon Sun and Moon Tips: Catching Wimpod

A tip before catching Wimpod: Save your data first. Why? Well, simply because according to most players that have already caught Wimpod, once you fail on your first try you'll have to wait for its next spawn on the following day - which is a lot of wait, right? Lastly, do not get Wimpod's HP below 50% or else, it'll use the Wimp Out ability and run off. Just use an ultimate ball or you can put status effects such as sleep or paralyze and catch it before it drops half HP.
