Believe It Or Not: Twitter´s CEO Account Was Suspended

Twitter´s CEO and Co-founder, Jack Dorsey, suffered a bizarre incident in which his own company briefly suspended his account on Tuesday night for about a half hour, because what he defined as an "internal mistake". During that short period, anyone who tried to access his account @Jack -which had 3.9 million followers- received the well-known error message informing that the account was suspended.

Twitter´s CEO Posted Again His First Tweet

According to Fortune, once he got his account restored he tweeted "Just setting up my twttr...again (account suspension was an internal mistake)," which is a call-back to the first tweet he ever posted on the social network on March 21,2006, in a moment in which no one expected that Twitter could become what it later becomes. However, the unusual detail about this awkward situation was that when he recovered his account, his previous tweets were also recovered but his follow count decreased at 2.67 million.

Recently, Twitter has released new harassment policies in order to fight against online abuse in its platform, which has been one of the main concerns that users have with this social network, considering that it have occurred in many times what is usually known as cyberbullying. However, this is also a strategy to solve its users´ leak problem, giving the fact that the company has continuously decreased its numbers in this issue, to the point in which there are many others social media that has more users.

Twitter´s Reasons To Suspend An Account

According to The Wall Street Journal, anyone who has an account in Twitter can deactivate it wherever they want, but only the company can suspend them, which is something that is commonly done when users flag them, and the platform deems them to be sending any kind of abusive tweets or spam. Of course, Twitter also suspends the accounts if it detects that it has been hacked or compromised.
