Horizon Zero Dawn: Recent Trailer Looks Pretty Good But…

Horizon Zero Dawn recently released a trailer that features more details about the game's storyline. The video preview was quite good but it did raise some concerns about its gameplay.

Aloy's Friends And Enemies Revealed

Aloy's tribe was attacked and she pursued the attackers outside her tribe's sacred land. The trail led to Meridian where she warned the people there about the unknown attackers. The bad guys are actually unearthing large and powerful machines. What's worse, the rogue robots can also control other nearby lesser powerful robots. The recent trailer is available for viewing here.

Lance Reddick's voice and face was also featured in the trailer. He will give advice and support to Aloy in the game. The actor is no stranger to video games since he appeared in several of them such as Destiny. The previous trailer though described Aloy as an outcast. Fortunately, a kind soul adopted and raised her as his child.

Gameplay And Mechanics

The video trailers are good but the gameplay and mechanics have yet to be revealed. Based on the trailers, we can assume that players will do a lot of riding and combats including the use of bows. Aloy will also do a lot of exploring and possibly crafting her weapons or some of the technology in the game.

About Horizon Zero Down

Horizon Zero Dawn is set in a very far future that suffered two or more apocalyptic events. Players assumed the role of Aloy who hunts various machine beasts roaming their world. It's interesting to see humans reverting to a tribal civilization while surrounded by ancient but powerful machines and technology. We could expect to know more once the game is released and played.

Developer Guerilla Games and Publisher Sony have set the release date on February 28, 2017. Unfortunately for Xbox One owners, Horizon Zero Dawn is only available for the time being on PS4 and PS4 Pro. It's also viewable on HDR colors.

Decima Game Engine

Guerilla Games used its own Decima engine to create Horizon Zero Dawn. Interestingly, this is the same engine that Hideo Kojima will use in developing Death Stranding. Despite using it, both titles feature a different look which clearly indicates the versatility of the game engine. Kojima's project though is expected to take years before its finished.
