Pokémon Cobalt & Amethyst Combines Minecraft and Pokemon; Boasts Over 136 Completely New Pokemon

Nintendo's hit franchise has taken the world by storm over the past year with "Pokemon Go" and "Pokemon Sun and Moon." However, some players still want more installments from the franchise so they literally decided to build their own game. "Pokémon Cobalt & Amethyst" takes the series and places it inside the world of "Minecraft."

"Cobalt and Amethyst" Merges "Pokemon" and "Minecraft"

According to International Business Times, the new "Pokemon" title is completely unique in the sense that it takes place inside another game. Needless to say, this has no ties whatsoever with the other installments in the series yet the fanmade game still has its own charms. Instead of sprites of 3D models, the 136 monsters here are graphically different from the ones found in main games.

Moreover, these exclusive Pokemon are not found in the official Pokedex either so players will get the chance to catch yet another batch of monsters. Similarly, this title also follows the same formula in the series wherein Trainers can catch Pokemon, fight trainers and challenge Gym Leaders. iDigitalTimes.com shares that the main campaign itself will last for about 60-80 hours.

Team Up to Stop the Vile Team Tempest

In line with this, the main plot revolves around the protagonist teaming up the region's professor to stop the evil Team Tempest. This sinister group plans to release a "Legendary darkness" that demands a certain tribute. It seems like Team Tempest might be targeting the hero's loved ones as he is trying to save their lives.

On more technical terms, this specific map does not require any special mods to work. Although, developers recommend that players use the Optifine feature to enhance the gameplay performance. Furthermore, this game runs on the "Minecraft" server 1.8.8. Fans who want to play "Cobalt and Amethyst" can download the map now.
