The most awaited Honda Civic Type R has been one of the most iconic hatchbacks offering performance like a sports car. This new 5-door hatch car from Honda is never before seen on the US market. However, the company has announced that the Civic Type R will be available around the world, especially in the US from this spring.

This morning, Honda took the wraps on its new Civic Type R at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The Honda Civic Type R is scheduled to be on sale in the U.S. in this spring. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) is in the range of mid-$30k range. Notedly, according to 9to5Mac, the new Honda Civic Type R is the first ever Type R-badged vehicle to be sold in America.

Jeff Conrad, American Honda Motor's senior vice president, and general manager said that the upcoming Type R is the fastest and most powerful Honda Civic sold in America. He also said the team who made the most reliable vehicle are very happy to inform all US car enthusiasts that the long wait for the "forbidden fruit of Honda Type R performance" is already over. And finally, Honda gave people some specs to look forward with.

‪‪Honda Civic Type R‬‬ Specs

According to Jalopnik, the Hinda Civic Type R will come with 306 horsepower. It will also boast a 295 lb-ft of torque from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder i-VTEC engine. Unlike the cars from the competitors such as Ford, Subaru, and Audi, the Honda Civic Type R stays front-wheel drive.

The new five-door Honda Civic Hatchback is considered to be a "bad boy" because it has a substantial body, chassis as well as braking upgrades. Honda said that it is worthy of being the first ever Type R car ever sold in the America. It also has a body of 40 percent more rigid compared to the old European Honda Civic Type R.
