Seth Rollins, WWE superstar, has recently announced that he will grace the cover of the new WWE 2K18 video game. He made the announcement when he appeared on SportsCenter last Monday. Other details of the game were also revealed including its release date and the game's special editions.

It will be the first time that Rollins will appear on the cover of WWE 2K18. He will be joining other WWE Superstars like 'The Rock' Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar. The practice of putting WWE Superstars on the video game cover started when the WWE licensing was acquired by Visual Concepts and 2K.

Rollins' choice for WWE 2KI8's cover seems out of the ordinary. The other WWE Superstars were already veterans in the league and have been seen in movies and other celebrity affairs. Rollins is still in his early 30s making him somewhat a special case. His only exposure in the klieg lights is a cameo role in Sharknado and some Daily Show appearances.

As the cover of WWE 2K18, Rollins will personify the game's global marketing campaign - "Be Like One." This slogan induces gamers to imbibe the personality and character of these WWE superstars while playing the game. According to a report, putting Rollins on the cover is a bet from 2K.

The game publisher is hoping that Rollins' stature and his active participation in professional wrestling will induce even the casual gamer to buy a copy of WWE 2K18. Of the wrestlers who graced the cover of the video game, only Cena and Rollins remain active in WWE wrestling matches. Austin has already retired, Lesnar is just a part-time performer and The Rock is busy with his Hollywood movies.

There will be two editions of WWE 2K18, Standard, and Deluxe. 2K is now focused on marketing the Deluxe edition. Fans who pre-order the Deluxe edition will be entitled to a season pass, bonus digital content and Collector's digital content. The game will launch on Oct. 17 and will be playable on Xbox One and PS4.
