OnePlus 5 vs Galaxy S8 vs iPhone 7 Plus: 2017 Ultimate Smartphone Specs Battle
One Plus, Samsung, and Apple, are undoubtedly the giants in the smartphone industry and are always facing tough competitions on their respective devices. The OnePlus 5 is the company's most powerful and successful device to date while Samsung's newly released device, the Galaxy S8, is one of the best-selling and powerful smartphones on the market right now, with top-of-the-line tech and plenty of perks. Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 Plus is amicably Apple's most outstanding and best smartphone to date.
OnePlus 5 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display wrapped in Gorilla Glass 5 with a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Powered by 1.9GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and backed up with 8GB of RAM and packs 64GB or 128GB on the pricier OnePlus 5 model. The device camera system features a 20-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 16-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The OnePlus 5 is running Android 7.1.1 and keeping the power on is a 3300mAh nonremovable battery. It is priced at $500 depending on the variant, GSMarena reported.
Samsung Galaxy S8
The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED display. Announced as the first smartphone certified by the UHD Alliance as Mobile HDR Premium, it sports a 12-megapixel dual pixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and 8-megapixel front camera with autofocus. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC in the US, and Exynos 8895 SoC for international markets, the Galaxy S8 is backed up with 4GB of RAM and with 64GB inbuilt storage, that supports expandable storage via microSD card up to 256GB. The Galaxy S8 has a 3,000 mAh that supports wireless charging. Samsung has finally introduced its Microsoft Continuum-like feature, the Samsung DeX. It is priced between $750-$850 depending on the variant.
Apple iPhone 7 Plus
Apple's iPhone 7 Plus features a 5.5-inch Full HD screen and a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. Powered by quad-core Apple A10 Fusion processor, it is backed up with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The iPhone 7 Plus added two 12-megapixel cameras, one wide-angle and one telephoto which features a 2x optical zoom. The iPhone 7 Plus runs iOS 10 and keeping the power on is a 2900mAh non-removable battery. Also, it is certified water-resistant IP67 with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, 3D Touch Capacitive Home Key & Haptic Engine.
In many ways, these high-end smartphones are arguably powerful. Each has perks that the other does not offer. The OnePlus 5 has an upper hand over Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7 Plus since it offers a larger 128GB storage, more 8GB ram and as previous reports said, it won as the fastest charging smartphone over its biggest rival, the Galaxy S8, and dethroned Apple iPhone 7 as the fastest phone, Express reported.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is water resistant, has a larger screen, wireless charging, and better display, plus a Samsung Dex. While the Apple iPhone 7 Plus offers the most impressive camera, a decent RAM and sticks to the basics and that's great for most users. However, it all boils down to the price, which plays a major role in the whole comparison. Clearly, OnePlus 5 comes with a much practical price yet still powerful enough to truly take on Samsung S8 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

A simple, Yet Versatile, New Design for Chaotic Oscillating Circuitry Inspired by Prime Numbers
Researchers at Tokyo Institute of Technology have found a simple, yet highly versatile, way to generate "chaotic signals" with various features. The technique consists of interconnecting three "ring oscillators," effectively making them compete against each other while controlling their respective strengths and their linkages. The resulting device is rather small and efficient, thus suitable for emerging applications such as realizing wireless networks of sensors.
