2018 Kia Sorento Awarded For Top Safety Pick+ By IIHS
The 2018 Kia Sorento has received an award from The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for a Top Safety Pick+. The last year's model only received the Top Safety Pick award since its headlights scored a Poor rating on the new headlights test. However, the headlight improvements in this year's Kia Sorento is said to be responsible for this award.
Like the 2017 model, the 2018 Kia Sorento received a Good score on all crash tests, roof strength test, and the head restraints test. Moreover, the 2018 Kia Sorento also received the highest score of Superior on the front crash prevention test after it avoided a 12- and 25-mph collision, as reported by Motor Trend.
The 2018 Kia Sorento offers the latest safety technology on most models. Other features in the car include touchscreen infotainment, big chrome wheels, and higher-end audio, as well as surround-view cameras.
In order for a car to earn the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS, it must score Good on all crash tests, roof strength, and head restraints tests get a Superior or Advanced rating in the front crash prevention test, and receive a Good or Acceptable score on the headlights test. So it is clear that 2018 Kia Sorento has all these tactics.
The 2018 Kia Sorento has made major gains in its latest redesign. No matter which Sorento model you choose, L, LX, EX, SX, or SXL, Kia's biggest crossover has a generically handsome silhouette, which weaves itself right into the big tapestry of modern utility-vehicle design, as reported by The Car Connection.
In the 2018 Kia Sorento, the power comes from a lowly 4-cylinder in base models. The big V-6 comes off less eager than the turbo-4, yet it's 50 hp stronger, without much of a drain on fuel. All come with a well-tuned 6-speed automatic, and the turbo-4 and V-6 can combine with all-wheel drive, with a locking center differential. Inside, the 2018 Kia Sorento makes its best impressions as it acts more like a plush luxury SUV, with soft-touch plastics, handsome leathers, and supple front seats.
