Top 5 Video Games to Play for a Truly Unique First Date

Video games are one of the most popular hobbies because it gives players a chance to kick back and escape reality for a bit, but it's also a great thing to bond over! Here are our top 5 video game recommendations for a different kind of the first date with a fellow gamer. Keep reading to see if your favorite game made our list!

5. The Walking Dead

Telltale Games

The Walking Dead is a crazy popular television series that has millions of fans across the country. So, it should be no surprise that this video game is on our list, not to mention it's the easiest way to get fellow fans interested is to advise them to play this game with their soul mate or friends.

The game is released in "seasons" and each season will leave you riveted and wanting to know more. Although it's more like an interactive movie, you and your date will have fun taking turns controlling the main character, Clementine after being discovered by Lee Everett, who then teaches her the necessary skills to survive.

4. Portal 2

Valve Corporations

If you've played Portal 2, you already know how much fun it can be trying to figure out the best moves in this physics-based puzzle game. We love this game as a date night game because you can work together to solve those puzzles... Or you could sabotage each other's characters by turning off the switch, causing them to fall to the ground.

Of course, if you'd rather play the main story campaign and take turns playing, that's perfectly fine, too. That's the beauty of this game - you have plenty of options on how to play!

3. Uncharted Series

Naughty Dog

Although this series first began way back in 2007 with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, this series is one that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. The game is touted to be the best-selling game, so the chances are pretty good that your date has already played the game. However, it's a whole other ball game when you're taking turns trying to get Drake closer to the fortune he seeks.

When you and your date are playing, you can take turns living out your inner Indiana Jones, albeit only virtually. But, it's more than just adrenaline that'll keep the date interesting - the stunning graphics and environments will almost feel like you're watching an action flick!

2. Until Dawn

Supermassive Games

There's nothing that'll make your date cling to your date than a good horror movie. However, instead of schelping to the movie theater and paying an arm and a leg on tickets and snacks, you can play Until Dawn.

In this game, you're going to control eight friends who go up to Blackwood Mountain for a getaway. However, when their lives are faced with Saw-Like situations, your decisions will have a Butterfly Effect on the other characters. As you play, you'll notice the gameplay and themes feel inspired by other popular horror games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Heavy Rain to name a few.

1. Minecraft

Mojang

Everyone has heard of the massively popular sandbox game, so of course, this would make it onto our list. Both you and your date can play together and create an incredible landscape unlike any other. Plus, if you have some of the mods installed, your experience will be much more interesting. The multiplayer feature allows you and your date to combat one another if you so choose, or you two can visit one of the many servers where you can play with others.

We particularly like this as a date night game because you can continue to build your world together long after the date ends. Or, if things go south, you can always take some joy in ruining their carefully crafted masterpieces. It's a win-win either way!
