Nokia EOS may launch on July 11, press invites sent

After the launch of Nokia Lumia 925 and the Lumia 928 in May this year, it seems that the Finnish company is now preparing for the launch of the rumored EOS. Nokia had recently sent out press invites, which hints towards the launch of the much-awaited EOS.

Rumors of the upcoming Nokia EOS have been growing in frequency recently. Moreover, many pictures of the EOS have also appeared online. In the U.S., the Nokia EOS is expected to head to AT&T.

The Nokia press invite says, "Zoom Reinvented" along with a picture of a magnifying glass which says "See More From Nokia, 11AM, July 11, New York City."

The popularity of Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphones is getting stronger in the smartphone space and Nokia has the most number of WP8 smartphones available in the market. Nokia released the Lumia 928 for Verizon and the Lumia 925 for T-Mobile. The Lumia 920 launched in Nov. 2012 is exclusive only to AT&T. Now speculations suggest that Nokia is all set to launch another WP8 flagship handset on AT&T, which will also attract customers looking for top-end camera features.

The Nokia EOS is said to have a 41-megapixel sensor, Xenon & LED flash and OIS for better picture quality even in low light conditions. The smartphone will possibly have Variable Aperture lens (like the N86) and a more detailed camera UI similar to the one found on the Nokia 808. If rumors are to be believed, then the handset will also have an FM transmitter, Expandable Micro SD slot and possibly a Micro HDMI out port.

The handset is also expected to have a 2,000 mAh battery, which is similar to that of the Nokia Lumia 920. The leaked pictures also suggest that Nokia EOS will be very similar in design and will be made of polycarbonate material just like the Lumia 920.
