Apple TV beta software features iTunes Radio and Conference Room Display

While everyone was focused on the changes to be seen on the iOS 7 for the iPhone, Apple has quietly rolled out a beta version of the operating system for the Apple TV. The latest software adds iTunes Radio and Conference Room Display to the set-top box of Apple.

The iTunes Radio free streaming music service was officially announced during the WWDC 2013 and it has now made its way to the Apple TV. Just as how it works for the iOS 7 beta on iPhones, Apple TV users can tap the built-in app to stream music over the Internet.

The iTunes Radio on Apple TV features preloaded stations and the option to buy songs through the iTunes. Users can also add stations based on their preferences.

Music discovery is among the top drivers for the iTunes Radio. Users will be able to buy the songs from the iTunes Store and enjoy them whenever they want.

Apple may still tweak the features of the iTunes Radio before its final release later this fall. As the company explores a new platform to market its radio service, it will be clashing head-on with Pandora and with the Google Music All Access. However, with millions of Apple TV in households at the moment, Apple can make the iTunes Radio a household name.

As reported earlier, the iTunes Radio service will offer a commercial-free experience for users willing to pay a monthly subscription fee of $25 otherwise ads may pop from time to time.

Apple Insider reported that the Apple TV update also brings Conference Room Display that will allow users to share content during meetings.

Users will be able to put up a custom image on the home screen of the Apple TV. For example, when used at the workplace, companies can use their logo or an event banner plus a custom message. Aside from seeing the custom log and message, this mode also provides instructions on how to link other iOS and Mac devices to the set-top box via Wi-Fi.

Apple also offered subtitle customization options with the update. Users can choose between subtitles or captioning. They will also be able to change the subtitle's font size, font color and background color.
