If you've been waiting to get your hands on the highly anticipated Google Editions of two popular Android smartphones that are currently creating waves in the consumer space, then you're in luck. The much-awaited Google Editions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are now up for pre-order on eBay.
According to a report, "retailers on eBay are now accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One Google Edition handsets."
The e-retailer, it seems, is targeting consumers in international markets where Google will not release the smartphones. The Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Editions will only be available in the U.S. and hit the shelves on June 26. Therefore, consumers in Europe and Asia will have too look to third-party retailers to purchase the Google Editions of the popular handsets and get them shipped.
The Galaxy S4 Google Edition runs on stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with no TouchWiz on top. The 16GB variant of the smartphone is up for pre-order on eBay for $849.99, which is a lot higher than the official $649 price announced by Google.
eBay also has the 32GB version of the HTC One Google Edition up for pre-order for $769.99. The HTC One with the "Nexus user experience" sports an official price tag of $599, making the eBay price a lot higher.
With the Google Play Store set to retail the smartphones soon, those who are not in the U.S. may look to eBay to purchase the Nexus-flavored devices. Considering the Google Play Store delayed the delivery of the Nexus 4, some consumers may be tempted to pay a premium price and receive the handset on June 28 itself, thanks to eBay.
