Bell to offer white BlackBerry Q10 from July 5

Canadian carrier Bell is apparently gearing up to launch the QWERTY-enabled BlackBerry Q10 in white from July 5, if a new report is anything to go on.

Till now, Rogers was the only carrier in Canada which was offering the white variant of the device, but it seems Bell is all set to join the fray.

The new information is courtesy MobileSyrup, which allegedly managed to get its hands on the internal document, which revealed Bell's plans. The price for the white model of the BlackBerry Q10 will likely remain the same as the black variant i.e. at $199.99 on a three-year contract or $699.99 off-contract.

According to MobileSyrup, "Rogers exclusivity on the BlackBerry Q10 in white is almost over. According to an internal doc we received it reveals that Bell is on tap to launch the Q10 in pristine white on July 5th. The price is the exact same at $699.95 outright."

BlackBerry launched its all-touch Z10 earlier in January this year, but market observers are of the opinion that consumers would lean more towards the QWERTY-enabled Q10. This sentiment has also been echoed by BlackBerry fans who would prefer the traditional BlackBerry QWERTY experience on the Q10 over the Z10's touchscreen.

With the company set to reveal its fiscal Q1 earnings report on Friday, June 28, analysts are at loggerheads over whether BlackBerry will surpass estimates for the quarter or fall short. The earnings report will give an insight into the sales success (or lack thereof) of the two new BlackBerry 10 OS-supported handsets.
