Apple is increasing the salary of its retail employees in the U.S.

Apple gives its U.S. retail employees raises ranging from two percent to 10 percent, depending on location.

The salary hike that the company will give to its employees will depend on their job roles and store locations, from 2% to 10%.

These job roles comprise Genius Bar technical support staff, sales staff, and some senior hourly workers.

Apple Salary Hike

The salary increase comes from Apple workers raising complaints about the rare increase in wages and compensation despite working in the world's top-performing firm worth $200 billion.

According to MacRumors, one salesperson's compensation increased by approximately $25 per hour as a result of the new $2 raise. Another employee who is responsible for repairs saw his or her hourly wage rise by approximately $24 per hour due to the $3 increase.

Apple announced this week that, in addition to paying raises, the company would be introducing improved benefits for employees.

Apple offers 12 paid sick days per year, an increase from the previous six, and those days can be used for mental health leave, illnesses, or medical appointments for family members.

Salar Increase Due To The Pandemic

In the midst of the "great resignation," Apple is increasing their employees' salary in response to the tightening labor market, inflation problem, and complaints they received from their staff about their Covid-19 pandemic working conditions.

Inflation has added a heavy pressure to the economic market, and Apple is no exception. As the economy recovers from the pandemic, businesses in the U.S. have struggled in looking for workers.

The company is adding more benefits and compensation for both its part-time and full-time employees as a move for Apple to satisfy its retail staff after the still ongoing challenging times.

Previously, Apple only provided additional vacation days to employees who had worked for the company for five years. However, the company recently changed this, making employees eligible for an increase in the number of vacation days they will receive annually.

Apple plans to introduce paid vacation time for part-time employees for the first time in April, as well as increased sick leave and new child- and elder-care benefits, according to a report by Bloomberg.

Apple's New Features

Even though it is rare for Apple to give raises to employees across its retail network, the company gave $1,000 one-time bonuses to store employees who were hired before March 31, 2021, in September of last year.

It also provided bonuses of $500 to employees who were hired after that date. Apple has over 500 stores in over 100 countries and employs tens of thousands of retail employees.

Furthermore, Gadgets reported that they are working on a feature that allows users to pay with a single tap on their iPhones.

This feature will be launched this year to make all kinds of payments that utilize near field communications (NFC) technology.

The raises are intended to benefit employees who have been with the company for at least a year before the outbreak's start in 2020. They are intended to align veteran employees with more recent hires better.

This week, the iPhone maker announced the pay increases during store briefings and individual meetings with employees.
